Marianata A. Sylvaince @iartsysam a self-taught illustrator, designer and writer from Jacmel, Haiti creates and works in NYC. Currently a full-time illustration major at the School of Visual Arts, this emerging Artist creates images from “raw emotions” that is heavily influenced by her nationality and race. A part of her practice involves exploring personalities, cultures, food, language & style. In her collection “Black Women”, the characters are reminders that being able to achieve anything that you desire is in arms reach. It is also a note to self that: I am a Boss, I am Elegant, I am capable, I am fierce, I am subtle, I am unconventional, I am thick, I am Black, I am a woman.
